Rizogas-O Suspension (200 ml, dose 2 TSF BID/TID) contains Sucralfate 1 gm and Oxetacaine 10 mg. Sucralfate reacts with gastric acid to form a long-acting acid buffer for 6-8 hours after a single dose, and attaches to proteins on ulcer surfaces forming protective barriers against acid, pepsin & bile; it is cytoprotective and increases bioavailability of several growth factors, modulating wound healing. Oxetacaine is a potent local anesthetic administered orally for relief of pain associated with peptic ulcer disease or esophagitis, and remains highly active even in highly acidic conditions.
